Located in the heart of Mt. Desert Island and Acadia National Park, Mt. Desert Campground offers traditional camping with quiet, wooded sites located directly on the salt water shore of beautiful Somes Sound. Primarily tenting and tent trailers with some sites that can accept up to 20 foot RVs. Many tent sites have wooden platforms.

Our Camp Store is open daily. Enjoy fresh brewed coffee, homemade muffins, pastries, Maine blueberry pies and hand-dipped Maine ice cream.

Mount Desert Island is an artists and photographers paradise. Scenic drives, historic sites, shells, rocks, blueberries, hiking, sailing, fishing and bird watching are but a few of the most popular activities in the area.
